What We Learned:Preparing for January Transitions- If your child will be transitioning into a new classroom when we return from Winter Break, you will receive a letter on 12/9 outlining their transition. The teachers will be collaborating to support your children in preparing for the transition, but we encourage you to take time to meet your student's new teachers, also! Feel free to reach out with any questions regarding this upcoming transition.Reminders:
Our Winter Program on December 20th will consist of Hot Cocoa in the classrooms from 1:30-2. The infant rooms will not participate in the hot chocolate but will participate in the rest of the program! Then families will join us in the gym to watch each classroom perform a holiday song from 2-3 pm. We are asking all families to remain in the gym until all classrooms have finished performing. Once all classrooms are done performing, you are welcome to start your Winter Break after the program ends if you choose!
Tip of the Month:
The holiday season calls for changes in our routines due to all of the fun and exciting celebrations. Little ones do not have much control over their schedules and that can cause them stress, resulting in difficult behaviors. We can mitigate these behaviors by informing them: What are we doing now? How do we know when this routine is over? And what comes next?
Important Dates:
- 12/5 PAC Zoom Meeting
- 12/6 Early Release
- 12/6 Parent Teacher Conference Open House 3-3:45
- 12/20 Winter Program
- 12/23-1/3 Winter Break -No School
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of the Early Learning Center at FM Day! For many of you, I am a familiar face that you may have seen in the hallways or in the classrooms over the past few years. For those of you I have yet to meet, I would love to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Ilana Conti, I am a Colorado native who has been immersed in the world of early childhood since my first job in community childcare at 16 years old. I have been serving students in Westminster Public Schools as a licensed Early Childhood Special Education teacher for many years. More recently, I pursued higher education in Educational Leadership and Administration with my Principals license while participating in a variety of leadership roles here in Westminster Public Schools. I look forward to blending my extensive background in early childhood with district initiatives to provide well-rounded learning experiences for our earliest learners. With that being said, my primary focus is to ensure that your children are safe and happy while they are at the ELC at FM Day! In order to do so, I strive to maintain an open and collaborative relationship with all of you! I look forward to seeing you all in the halls, and classrooms in the near future. Please feel free to reach out at any time!
